To get into Mini-squad students by this level have increased their laps from 1 lap (20 metres) to doing 6 laps, (approx 100 metres).

Their Freestyle and backstroke is starting to look good and they are starting to put together the harder Strokes such as Butterfly and Breaststroke. A racing Dive is introduced with lots of race practice with emphasis being placed on swimming correctly and increasing speed not necessarily winning every race.

We work on correct race starts and finishes and introduce Tumble Turns. Our teachers are still in the water with Mini-Squad and this is a big advantage giving Hands On correction.
